Pink Frost Allow Their ‘Bare Roots’ of Heavy Rock to Show
Chicago's Pink Frost play an metamorphic kind of heavy rock, taking on different influences with ease. This June, the three-piece is set to release New Minds, their first full-length in nearly four years. Today, the band is premiering "Bare Roots," a look into the heaviness they're capable of bringing out. On first listen, you can gleam a lot of the influences the band probably grew up with, bringing to mind the likes of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. Ultimately, they offer some surprising twists — after a killer intro riff, the band lets things get a little quieter, allowing melody to take center stage before ramping things back up and firing a celebratory riff into the clouds.
