Mikey Young Puts on His Synth ‘Socks’ for Debut Solo Album

Mikey Young has been a quiet, but key player in Australia's punk and experimental renaissance. With membership in the likes of Total Control, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Lace Curtain, Orb and more, he's been a constant force of new releases. He's clearly not stopping any time soon, as today he's announced his upcoming solo record, Your Move Vol. 1, as part of Moniker Records' synth album series, out June 16. The record focuses on his work with the instrument, as you can hear on "Socks." It's quite a varied track, grooves of synth pluming outward in different directions, shapes and feelings — dancey one moment, thoughtful the next. It's something you're bound to enjoy.
