Lower Plenty are a indie band out of Melbourne, Australia's burgeoning scene featuring the creative wellspring that is Al Montfort (Total Control, Terry, Straightjacket Nation, etc), who touches on lo-fi indie and Flying Nun in the project. Today, they share the new video for "All the Young Men," which is a lot odder than it initially seems. It starts off straightforward enough, the band simply playing and sitting around, a simple guitar melody joined by different string instruments and effects. As the video continues, you start to notice that things are getting a little strange — galaxies flying by, strangely dressed guests flanking the band. Space and time collide, and things keep getting weirder until the guests are revealed to be (probably) extra-terrestrial cloaked beings who are into sweet tunes. Bizarre stuff, but presumably an interesting peek into what the band has in store.
