It's been eight years since we heard last from Toronto post-rock outfit Do Make Say Think. That's set to change later this week with the arrival of their new album, Stubborn Persistent Illusions, which they've just made available to stream on their official website, Stereogum points out. Even after such an extensive absence, it sounds as if the instrumentalists never missed a beat — stunning opener "War on Torpor" sounds like Slowdive in IMAX, quaking and white-hot; "d=3.5√h" splices math-rock with eerie, otherworldly synths; at the center sits "Her Eyes on the Horizon," a cinematic, jazz-rock centerpiece that culminates in a supernova-sized coda. It's a strong comeback, not to mention a sprightly late-spring soundtrack. Stream it below.

Stubborn Persistent Illusions is out May 19 via Constellation Records. Pre-order it here.
