Get Pulled Into Wolf Eyes’ Tense and Furious ‘Undertow’
There is something primal and sexual about the new Wolf Eyes track, slithering and sliding with a palpable tension that recalls the Velvet Underground. "Undertow" is propelled by a sexy and understated bass line, using saxophone squeals and a shimmering, repetitive synth line to give a sense of dread to the proceedings, adding in a vocal that is semi-monotone, recalling Lou Reed. It's tense, simmering with anger, dark, beautiful and furious all at once, and makes us really excited for the band's new LP (also titled Undertow) due March 24 via their own Lower Floor Music.
