Unearthly Trance Go for the Jugular With ‘Scythe’
It's good to have Unearthly Trance back in the realm of the living. The sludge trio went on hiatus in 2012, got back together in 2015, and are now set to drop their first full-length in seven years. Today the band premiered "Scythe," a five-and-a-half-minute call for death itself. Guitars hit with defiance, riffing in a perfectly sludgy wave of sound. Things ramp up into a loud melody, an all-encompassing sound of pure heaviness. It'll be interesting to see what the band does with their increasingly unique take on doom and sludge, a sound that's occult as a motherfucker.
