The Bug and Earth Unveil New Collaboration With ‘Snakes vs. Rats’

Both the Bug and Earth have enjoyed cult-like status in their respective genres, seemingly worlds apart. But what brings Dylan Carlson's doomy tendencies and Kevin Martin's forward-thinking approach to electronic music together is a desire to push their respective genres into new and exciting territories. Which is why their new collaborative project, the Bug vs. Earth, makes complete sense. The two musicians are preparing to release Concrete Desert (Ninja Tune, May 24), a record that coalesces both of their talents into a new kind of heaviness. Today you can hear "Snakes vs. Rats," in which static-y bits of distortion lead into longer riffs and total doom. It's going to be a hell of a project, potentially some of the best work in either artist's catalog.
