Salt Lake City's SubRosa recently released their fourth full-length, For This We Fought the Battle of Ages, in which the band takes their atmospheric doom to the next level. Today, a poignant message is delivered via their video for "Troubled Cells." As a Mormon, frontwoman Rebecca Vernon broke away from the rest of the record on the song, taking aim at the church's denouncement of gay members — they will excommunicate any gay member, and refuse to baptize children of gay parents unless they formally disavow their parents at age 18. Directed by Danica Vallone, "Troubled Cells" presents a strong visual response to the bigotry and the church's views.
