Spoon recently announced their new album, Hot Thoughts. The Austin band's follow-up to 2014's excellent They Want My Soul — which also marks their Matador Records homecoming — is due out March 17; if the previously released title track serves as any indication, it'll be the danciest entry in their discography to date.

Today, Britt Daniel and company have unveiled the audio and video for its second single, "Can I Sit Next to You." It's a four-on-the-floor stomper, anchored by funky fretwork and a stunning, synth-driven chorus. This isn't the first time the band has flirted with electronics (They Want My Soul was full of bleeps and bloops), but "Can I Sit Next to You" feels like uncharted territory nonetheless; they've never sounded more fully-formed or anthemic. Listen / watch below, and scroll down for their upcoming tour dates.

Spoon's new album, Hot Thoughts, arrives March 17 via Matador. Pre-order it here.
