Riverboat Gamblers’ ‘Massive Fraud’ Is a VHS From Hell

Riverboat Gamblers are a Denton, Texas punk band that has been playing music for almost 20 years. It's a long-ass time, but they do their thing so well, they sound like they only formed a year ago. Today we're premiering their new video, "Massive Fraud." The video feels like staying at an older cousin's house as a kid, pulling a random VHS off the shelf and throwing it in the player. Images of the band and other unknown sources melt together while the song bounces along with a heavy bite. The cumulative effect of years of songwriting are on full display here, effortless poppy hooks emerging in choruses without ever weighing down the integrity or realness of the music. It's just straight-up fun.
