Mogwai Unleash a ‘Coolverine’ Into the World

While they haven't always been the most visible of bands, Mogwai have remained one of post-rock's most influential acts over the past 20 years. They're about to expand upon their legacy, following up 2014's Rave Tapes with a brand new record, Every Country's Sun. Today you can hear the first new song off the record, "Coolverine," which captures their style perfectly. Instead of falling into the self-parodic crescendo-core that post-rock had devolved into circa the mid-2000s, Mogwai afford subtle complexity to their guitar work, generating a reflective and fluttering sound that's incredibly pristine.
