Khemmis Reflect a Prism of Metal in ‘Beyond the Door’

Khemmis don't fuck around when it comes to going all out in their tunes. The Denver doom quartet is set to release sophomore full-length Hunted on 20 Buck Spin later this month. Today, they've dropped new track "Beyond the Door," exactly nine minutes of bulldozing doom that expands into thrilling new terrain. When you hear what these guys are capable of, how slow riffs can evoke such powerful melody, it's not hard to be reminded of the initial excitement in seeing the rise of bands like Pallbearer. Khemmis offer a prism of all different types of metal: slow and steady sludge chords, the forward march of folk and some really impressive soloing for good measure. This is one track that does so many things well. Can't wait for October 21.
