Heavy Pockets’ New LP Is Sunny and Totally ‘Mopeless’

With contemporaries like Swearin' and influence from '90s alt-grunge, you have some idea of what to expect from the New Hampshire band on their new LP, Mopeless. The darkly sweet and emotive vocals of Shayla Riggs can be sad and reflective, or she can belt it out when she really wants to; regardless of that direction, we have big, crunchy guitars to lean on. All in all, it's a debut that needs to be shouted across the mountaintops — or at minimum, to the Crutchfield sisters and much of the Philadelphia scene.
