Soul Is Psychedelic in Chicano Batman’s ‘Friendship’

Certain sounds are so distinctly connected with their place, you start to correlate songs with locales. When you start jamming Chicano Batman, you're probably not gong to think of Southern California ever the same. The L.A. four-piece has released their new video for "Friendship (Is a Small Boat in a Storm)," a taste of what's to come from their upcoming record, Freedom Is Free. The video shows the band playing in their standard uniform of ruffled shirts and suits around the many locales of L.A., from back streets to bedrooms to cool backyards. Their music expertly combines a cross-section of psychedelia with jazz and soul to create a mix that's not usually heard, and undeniably them.
