Swing the Axe to the New Power Trip Single

"Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)" is where the hardcore comes through.

Though Power Trip have shared stages with a thousand bands of the thrash ilk — including some of the most important of all time — they are very much a crossover band. Take "Crossbreaker" from Manifest Decimation, or their newest track, "Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)," from Nightmare Logic (due via Southern Lord on February 24). Both tracks use many of the tricks of the thrash trade, but their various subtleties (like gang vocals on the chorus and drum breaks made for two-stepping) make it clear where their loyalties lie. No matter the genealogy, the most important thing is that they rip, which "Executioner's Tax" most certainly does. Stream the new track — along with the recently released "Firing Squad" — below.
