The Jesus and Mary Chain Are a Rock ‘n’ Roll ‘Amputation’

The Jesus and Mary Chain's much-anticipated return is finally upon us. The Scottish legends are not only set to release their first album in 18 years, Damage and Joy (in March via ADA / Warner); they've unveiled a brand new song, "Amputation." It starts with a flurry of noise and energy, before settling into an ultra-cool riff beneath the "oooohs" of the vocals. Singer Jim Reid still packs plenty of attitude and grit, "Fucked-up girls like drugged-up guys" ringing out with a jaded edge. "I'm a rock and roll amputation," indeed. Stream it below.
