Mastodon Take a Surprisingly Poppy Turn on ‘Show Yourself’

Mastodon aren't ones to stay in the same box for long. Whether it's riffing off into space or going whole hog on the sludge, the band knows how to make their music different each time. And boy, is this new track different. "Show Yourself" is probably Mastodon's poppiest track to date, giving flashes of the Killers and the like (while still interweaving some pretty huge guitar licks throughout). While "Sultan's Curse" showed that they're still bringing the sludge, this track implies that the band wants to explore what rock 'n' roll can do.
