Melbourne's Jarrod Quarrell and L.A.'s Shags Chamberlain (Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti) are Lost Animal, an intercontinental duo focused on tripped-out funk and buoyed by Quarrell's uniquely slacker-esque vocals. The duo produced You Yang, a new LP out today on Captured Tracks, and have delivered the "Too Late to Die Young" video, which makes its premiere here.

There's something uniquely isolating about the new video. Adopting Lost in Translation's themes of loneliness in a crowd, Quarrell wrestles with being surrounded by youth at their most celebratory — at a birthday party and a school dance. Although he starts off depressed, staring pensively into the middle distance, he eventually moves toward finding himself ... and the dancefloor. Check out the video above.
