Hope Sandoval Taps Kurt Vile for ‘Let Me Get There’
Mazzy Star's influence is felt in all different types of dream-pop and alternative rock. The band's Hope Sandoval is back with Until the Hunter, a new record from her project Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions. Today she's released, "Let Me Get There," a new track from the upcoming album. As if her own presence weren't enough, she tapped contemporary indie master Kurt Vile for a feature spot. It's an effortless collaboration — both singers' voices bouncing off one another, perfectly in line with the groove. The song takes its time, winding up at seven minutes, allowing all the feelings and grooves to come out as naturally as possible. It's always cool to see musicians collaborating with those who influence them, and it's a good sign for Sandoval's upcoming record.
