High Spirits Is a ‘Motivator’ for Traditional Hard Rock

Chris Black is arguably one of the best songwriters you've never heard of. Maybe best known for bands like Dawnbringer, Superchrist, his contributions to the better Nachtmystium releases and more, High Spirits is where his pop sensibility shines the brightest. Though the list of previously mentioned bands suggests a purely heavy metal aesthetic, High Spirits are pure rock 'n' roll, recalling hard rock bands from the late '70s and '80s. Harmonizing vocals combine with dual-lead guitars to make the best of both worlds; think Iron Maiden without the operatic vocals and you're somewhere in the ballpark.
