Allison Crutchfield has spent most of 2016 cruising down memory lane with P.S. Eliot behind their career-spanning compilation 2007-2011, which the band took on a victory lap earlier in the year. Now, the Philadelphia-based musician is taking the exit ramp to go it alone — as she did on 2014's Lean in to It EP — with her debut solo effort, Tourist in This Town. Due out January 27 via Merge, the Swearin' mastermind's latest effort is her most maximal yet, as evidenced by her just-unveiled single "Dean's Room," a crunchy guitar-pop gem slicked over with a fresh coat of New Wave glitter.

Lara Jean Gallagher's new visual for the clip, co-starring dancer Marlee Grace, reiterates that aesthetic further. The director told Pitchfork that she "wanted to counter the upbeat tempo of the song with moments that felt like taffy": lazy pool hangouts, barely tangible embraces and plenty of fleet-footed choreography. Merge will release Allison Crutchfield's Tourist in This Town LP on January 27. Pre-order here.
