Nashville's Savoy Motel have called upon the spirit of Jay Reatard for the latest single from their upcoming self-titled LP on What's Yr Rupture? Via bassist / frontman Jeffrey Novak:

"['Sorry People' is a] song based on the late Jay Reatard's skewed philosophy of never apologizing for anything, even though I remember him telling me he was sorry about countless crazy things in the past."

And while sure, that's a great idea for a song, what's more compelling is the funk-tinged glam stomp, the contrasting breathy male/female vocals and jangly guitar straight out of a track by the J.B.'s. It's enough to make you want to feather your hair, snag some platforms and bell-bottoms, and reenact this scene from Saturday Night Fever in your headphones.

You're welcome.
