Carson Cox has joined forces with WALL's Sam York and Parquet Courts' Austin Brown for Fire Dance, a limited-release 7" due out early next year on Wharf Cat. The Merchandise frontman produced the two-track project, which a press statement calls his "ode to downtown New York." Awash in moody synths, warped bass and his signature gothic croon (which duels with York's dulcet vocals throughout), his vibe here isn't too far off from the dreamlike soundscapes exhibited on Merchandise's recently released, massively underrated album A Corpse Wired for Sound. As for the wound-up weirdness, well, that could only come from Brown. Give it a spin below.

Carson Cox, Sam York and Austin Brown will release the Fire Dance 7" on January 6 via Wharf Cat. Pre-order it here.
