Upon first glance, Hellrazor's new video for "Raise Your Rifle" seems innocent enough — just the Connecticut-based trio of Mike Falcone (Speedy Ortiz), Jon Hartlett (Ovlov, Stove) and Julian Wahlberg, hanging around and rocking out at a pop-up carnival, compete with rides, fairway games and balloons (but no corn dogs, which is unfortunate, because corn dogs are tasty). It's happy — almost too happy.

So, you look a little closer, and some dark questions emerge:

  • Why are the dudes' faces splattered with blood?
  • Considering how the grounds are essentially abandoned, save for an Ovlov member or two (the band's former members make cameos, as does Speedy Ortiz's Darl Ferm, who directed the clip), is it not possible that we're witnessing the aftermath of some zombie apocalypse?
  • What's lurking on the other side of that mysterious trap door the band opens just past the one-minute mark?
  • Where can I cop that sick Discharge shirt that Wahlberg is wearing?
  • Last but not least, who the hell do Hellrazor think they are, skateboarding without kneepads or helmets? That's just plain unsafe.

Anyway, enough questions. Check out the "Raise Your Rifle" clip below, and scroll down for the band's upcoming tour dates.
