Between the P.S. Eliot farewell tour, the Early Recordings reissue collection, and treks alongside the likes of New Pornographers and Sleater-Kinney, one could say that Katie Crutchfield's had her hands full in the two years since her excellent Ivy Tripp. Now, she's about to get even bigger: Today, the artist has announced her plans to release a new Waxahatchee LP this summer. Arriving July 14, Out in the Storm marks Crutchfield's second release for storied indie label Merge, as well as a huge uptick in confidence, as evidenced by its massive first single, "Silver." Warm, sweeping chords, dreamy harmonies, prickling percussion — there's plenty to marvel at here, setting the stage for an ostensible show-stopper of an LP. Check out the video — featuring Crutchfield's sister Allison, who released an album of her own earlier this year — below.

Out in the Storm is out July 14 via Merge. Pre-order it here.
