Ty Segall sure knows his way around six strings. With a ton of projects under his belt, it's clear he can do a lot of different things with his axe, including smash one, courtesy of his aptly named new song, "Break a Guitar." It's one of Segall's loudest tracks to date, his guitar work an almost sludgy take on the sort of acidic surf rock the L.A. musician has become known for. The song is at times reminiscent of '70s psychedelic hard rock. It's a great turn for Segall, showing how far his ideas have spread.

Hear the track below, and look out for his new self-titled, due January 27 on Drag City.
