Let's be frank: Toys That Kill's new LP, Sentimental Ward, isn't exactly a revelation. In fact, if you've followed the career of Todd Congelliere and Sean Cole, it's another in a long line of records that marry catchy pop melodies and melodic punk tendencies to great effect. Nothing new, no reinventing the wheel; just plain old solid songwriting — something that a few people could learn from nowadays instead of opting for big bang explosions and studio tricks.

Outside of "S.D.R.T.T.Go!" (video here), another standout from Sentimental Ward is "Four String," a simple pop gem that lasts longer than most TTK tracks (a whopping three minutes!) but never outstays its welcome. In fact, check out the video below and tell me you won't hit repeat over and over for the song alone. Get the LP via Recess Records.
