You Can’t Be ‘Always Sad’ When the Jesus and Mary Chain Are Dropping New Singles

The Jesus and Mary Chain have just dropped another single, "Always Sad," out today via Spotify and due in March via the Damage and Joy LP. "Always Sad" is the second single from the band's first record in close to two decades, following "Amputation," which was released late last year. The song shows the band stripping everything down to as straightforward a rock song they can make, guitars ringing out over the dual vocals. It's a lovely thing, indicating that the record should have an understated edge that'll complement their previously released work. Time will tell where Damage and Joy will stand in the rest of the band's essential discog, but thinks are looking pretty bright thus far.
