French punks Rixe haven't been around for too long, but they've put out some pretty cool shit. They're set to release a new EP, Baptême Du Feu, and today have dropped the track "Paris-Est." It isn't pretty — the vocals are guttural Oi-punk, guitars crunching under a lo-fi texture to make the proceedings as loud and aggro as possible. Punk will never have any geographical restrictions, and the way Rixe take these sounds and reinterpret them should continue to be exciting. The rest of the 7" is bound to be as crushing and fun.
