Mastodon Shoot for the Stars on ‘Andromeda’

Mastodon are set to return later this month with their new album, Emperor of Sand. So far, we've heard two cuts from the LP, which hits shelves March 31 via Reprise: the sludgy chug-fest "Sultan's Curse" and "Show Yourself," a Foo Fighters-esque track that marks the band's poppiest material to date. If the latter single had you worried that the Atlantans were going soft, the latest taste of the record, "Andromeda," should allay your fears; the proggy epic is a throwback to the Crack the Skye days, a cosmic fever dream with ample twist and turns — and, because this is a Mastodon song, a killer solo.
