Sarah K. Pedinotti is a woman of many talents. When she’s not playing keyboard in Okkervil River, she’s playing bass for Cosmicide (a recently launched band masterminded by Secret Machines’ Brandon Curtis). Now, she’s expanding her portfolio yet again with Lip Talk, an experimental psych-pop venture. Her first release under the new solo moniker is due out this spring.

Today, CLRVYNT is proud to unveil the first murmurs of Lip Talk: Pedinotti’s debut single “Artemis,” taken from the as-yet-untitled record. Described in a press release by the artist as “a dark anthem for the current state of the feminine,” the single comes accompanied by a video whose all-female cast and crew nod to the song’s feminist themes. Working from photos that Pedinotti took while on tour with Okkervil River, director and collage artist Ji Jahng constructs a dizzying gallery comprised of works from a number of female artists, including Isabella Ferraro, Amanda Picotte and even Pedinotti’s sister Elizabeth. Check out the song and video below.
