Jay Som Earns Best in Show With ‘1 Billion Dogs’

Oakland-based multi-instrumentalist Jay Som (née Melina Duterte) recently announced her new album, Everybody Works, due March 10 via Polyvinyl. Not long after dropping off her epic first single, "The Bus Song," the musician’s back with another taste of the forthcoming record. This time, she’s brought “1 Billion Dogs” with her; the track contains zero barks, but plenty of guitars. Duterte reigns over the maelstrom with aplomb, bending the riffs to her will like a professional dog trainer teaching an indignant mutt to roll over. Give it a spin below.
