After six years of silence, Scottish alternative icons Teenage Fanclub are back with Here, their first LP since 2010's Shadows. As with past releases, the new album features contributions from all of the band's principal songwriters (Norman Blake, Gerard Love and Raymond McGinley); it also proffers up experiments in krautrock ("“I Was Beautiful When I Was Alive”) and glittering folk ("Steady State"), along with the band's usual jangle-pop goodness ("Thin Air," "I'm in Love"). Sunny, zen and undeniably catchy, the record's a perfect soundtrack for your Labor Day fêtes and Indian Summer strolls. A quarter-century after their immortal Bandwagonesque, the Fanclub's still got it — this one's worth the wait. Stream it over at NPR; below, check out the band's "I'm in Love" video, plus their upcoming tour dates.

Here is out September 9 via Merge.
