Good news for the cassette-averse (or just those late to the party): Washington, D.C. garage-punk trio Flasher are gearing up to press their self-titled debut tape to wax next month via Sister Polygon. The double-dip makes sense — not just because of the the band's recent uptick in prominence (recent and upcoming tour partners include Merchandise and White Lung), but because Flasher easily stands as one of the year's strongest debuts, a potent, underrated rock record that deserves a thorough second look.

Speaking of looking at things, Flasher have just unveiled a video for "Destroy," the tape's closing track. Director Drew Hagelin's interpretation finds the band (guitarist Taylor Mulitz, bassist Daniel Sapersten and drummer Emma Baker) alternately performing the track around their native District of Columbia —including deep within the garish wasteland known as the RFK Memorial Stadium parking lot — and watching their own footage on a TV set they tote around everywhere they go. Is the telly their hype man, their muse or their mirror? We'll let you decide. Watch below, and scroll down for a full list of upcoming tour dates.
