It feels pretty fucking good to have Crowbar continue to make ripping music. This October, the NOLA sludge band will be releasing their 11th full-length, The Serpent Only Lies, and holy shit, it's shaping up to be an absolute ripper. Today, the band released their new single, "Plasmic and Pure," which is really a representation of why we all fell head over heels for sludge in the first place. The song takes its time, building on one heavy-ass riff that gets more melodic and hopeful, before thrusting you back into the depths of its sound. With Todd Strange back in the fold, it's going to be an unmissable record for any fan of the genre.

The Serpent Only Lies drops October 28 on eOne.
