‘Bully Boys’ Is the First New Chavez Material in a Decade

After a hiatus of "fuck, it's been too long," brainy NYC indie favorites Chavez are back with a NEW release, the Cockfighters EP, due on January 13, 2017 via Matador. The first release is a doozy, the epic and beautiful new track "The Bully Boys," which hit the web today. The EP is up for preorder now.

Chavez, which features Matt Sweeney of Zwan / Soldiers of Fortune / Will Oldham, etc., fame, haven't released new material since 1996, with their last release being 2006's Better Days Will Haunt You, a compilation of all their tracks with associated b-sides and previously unreleased tracks. The band briefly reunited in the '00s, playing gigs with Pavement, Sonic Youth and others.
