Trump’s Victory Makes Black Lips Go ‘Deaf Dumb and Blind’

Like millions of people across the U.S. and around the world, Black Lips aren't very pleased with the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. In fact, the whole crew's damn pissed, and today they're making that known with "Deaf Dumb and Blind," a new ripper written in response to Donald Trump's stunning victory. "[The] election got us feeling a certain type of way, so we moded out a Chaos U.K.-style anarchy punk romp," reads the SoundCloud description. Indeed, the lo-fi production and apeshit drumming recall the streets of London, but the mournful wails in the background represent a misery that's wholly American — a nod, perhaps, to the Southern gothic tradition of the Lips' native Atlanta.
