Black Asteroid is Bryan Black, a producer who got his start working as a sound designer and keyboard technician for Prince at the legendary Paisley Park Studios (oh, Prince, how we miss thee), and later, as one half of the alt-pop duo MOTOR. These days, he’s less focused on the funk, instead shaping his new project as an exercise in glitchy ambient theatrics. Nobody does drama better than Nika Roza Danilova (aka Zola Jesus), so it’s a no-brainer that he’d recruit the phenom for his new song "Howl," which is set to appear on Black Asteroid’s forthcoming inaugural LP, Thrust. The moody epic arrives accompanied by an appropriately dreamlike video from Sebastian Mlynarski that pairs visuals of Danilova with stunning shots of the Icelandic landscape. Check it out below.

Thrust will be out later this year via Last Gang.
