Alex G Comes Through With Two New Tracks

Alex G made the transition from just another Bandcamp musician to a songwriter worth paying attention to with his 2015 record, Beach Music. That, along with his appearance on last year's Frank Ocean album, Endless, has solidified him as a rising star. Today, he announced his new album, Rocket, and dropped both a new video and a new song — respectively "Bobby" and "Witch." The former is a pretty huge departure, more along the lines of folk like Wilco than his previous indie. "Witch" fills the void ably, taking the folk element to strange places, à la Carissa's Wierd. Rocket will hopefully display more of this obvious songwriting growth.
